And there it goes! I can’t believe we are already closing out another year at McCoy Homes; and what an amazing year it was! I guess time really does fly when you’re having fun. Billy and I feel so blessed to be able to do what we do, to be supported by such a wonderful team and to serve such an amazing community. As we prepare to turn the corner and to ring in the next year, we wanted to take a moment to count our (many) blessings and to give thanks for the (many) hands that have been so helpful throughout the last twelve months.
BILLY MCCOY | HUSBAND, FATHER + HOMEBUILDER
First, I’d like to take the opportunity to say a little bit about my husband. Billy is such a good man. His faith; his steadfast commitment to me, our sons, and our family; his dedication to our team and to our customers; his drive, work-ethic and humility… It is no wonder to me that Billy was able to grow our business by 43% this year. As with everything, there were some ups and some downs, but I can honestly say that each of our customers personally thanked my husband for his hard work and his commitment their project. Things like this make me really proud to be his wife.
MCCOY HOMES | BACKWARD + FORWARD
Billy and I have been in the business of building homes since 1994. No matter how many times we do it, investing in a new development makes us a little nervous. After a great amount of research (and an even greater amount of prayer) we decided to invest in two of Chattanooga’s new custom home developments. We did some hand wringing and shared a sleepless night or two. But, we are so happy to report that both communities are thriving! We have completely sold out of our Greystone Pointe properties (HOOORAY!) and we are pre-selling Oak Haven for our 2018 build calendar. We have a number of additional homesites that will be made available in the coming months. AND (the thing I’m most excited about) we will be unveiling a new (and incredibly beautiful) showroom sometime early in the first quarter. To sum it up: McCoy Homes is sailing into 2018 with great numbers and even better prospects.
THE MCCOY TEAM
While we are excited about – and very proud of – the direction that McCoy Homes has taken, we recognize that we would not be in this position were it not for the hard work and the dedication of our truly amazing team.
Kathy manages to keep our schedules and organize our chaos – making us all smile as she does it. With her around, the roads seem smoother and the hurdles seem lower. She’s an invaluable asset and we are so grateful to have her on our team.
Project Managers, Buddy and Beau – our dynamic duo – make everything better, too! They truly enjoy their work, and take a great deal of pride in it. They are always one step ahead; taking changes to plan and schedule in stride. They accommodate our vendors and our homeowners with grace. They work long, hard hours, but we never hear them complain.
Our interior design department, now lead by the oh-so talented Jillian Hendricks, continues to turn out inspired and award winning work. Our team cleverly delivers convenience and efficiency wrapped in elegance and beauty. Our homeowners are all so thankful for their hard work – as are we!
These folks pour their heart and soul into everything they do – each one of our custom homes has their unique thumbprint. Billy and I wouldn’t be where we are today, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do, without the backing of such a talented and dedicated team. We consider them a blessing.
THE MCCOY FAMILY
On a more personal note, the McCoy family has experienced some really exciting things this year, too…
Our oldest son, Matt, and his wife, Kenya, just signed on for another 6 years of service in the United States Air Force. As I write this, I stop to consider the sacrifices that they have already made – and will continue to make. A lump wells in my throat. I am in awe – and so incredibly proud – of them both.
Billy and I are pretty proud of our youngest son, too. And I – for one – am thrilled to FINALLY announce that Nathan has decided to join our team here at McCoy Homes. He is so bright and he works so hard. I have no doubt he will thrive here. He has already begun to bring some impressive technologies to our company. We cannot wait to see what Nathan does in 2018.
Our Grandson, Carter, celebrated his first birthday this year. He is walking and talking (about what, nobody really knows!) and growing like a little weed! His mother, Hanlen, a precious addition to our family, is doing such a great job with him. She is an inspiration. They both bring us so much joy – Billy and I are having so much fun in our rolls as his Mimi and his Poppy.
Our very last little bit of news isn’t really so little. Well, physically she is tiny, but the news – is HUGE: The Lord blessed us with another grand baby this year! Her name is Kyla Simone McCoy. And she is perfect in every way. She snuck into this world eight weeks early – on December 10 – giving us all quite a fright! She was born measuring just over 17 inches long and weighing right under 4 pounds. We were so worried for her. But our God is good. He provided this tiny baby with a fierce mother, a wonderful care team and the will to fight. At the time of this writing, our tiny warrior is still in the NICU, but her strength and her resilience have surprised us all. We are confident that she will be home with Matt and Kenya – her Momma and her Daddy – in no time.
BLESSINGS TO YOU AND YOURS
As you can see, this has been a wonderful year for us; both professionally and personally. We are truly grateful for everyone who has played a part. To you, our family, our friends, our clients and our vendors: Billy and I wish you happiness and prosperity for the entirety of 2018. We pray that the Lord will bless you and keep you all the year through.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year,
Connie and Billy McCoy
