This year, we experienced blessings in abundance. And we are so very grateful for each and every one of them.

If I had to guess, I’d say Billy and I spent approximately zero hours looking back at our blessings and our accomplishments this year. That’s not to say that we didn’t recognize or give thanks for our blessings as they came to us. We just found ourselves – yet again – in an incredibly busy year of growth; and we didn’t have time to stop and take inventory of all that was going on.

Now that the Christmas Holiday has come to a close and our preparations for the New Year are complete, we find ourselves with some time to reflect. In doing so, we have come to realize that 2018 was another banner year for the McCoy Family and for the McCoy Homes team.

As we are a Family First company, it only makes sense to begin this year’s Letter of Gratitude with McCoy Family news and milestones…

BLAKELY:  Billy and I were thrilled to welcome our second granddaughter – another McCoy Princess – to our growing family this year. Blakely Renn McCoy joined us on August 3, 2018. She weighed seven pounds, ten ounces and was twenty and one half inches long. We were all smitten from the start. Now, five months old, she is rolling over, trying to sit up and babbling on about who-knows-what. Holding her, reading to her, hearing the sound of her little voice – it all brings us so much joy.

KYLA: One year old, our tiny warrior, continues to surprise and impress us. We closed out last year with some real anxiety over her early arrival, but she spent the year proving that we had worried for nothing. Our tiny Kyla hit all of her developmental milestones and then some. Her bright eyes, her happy smile and her contagious giggle delight all who meet her. Her frequent visits to Chattanooga were among the brightest highlights of our year. We have our fingers crossed that 2019 will bring many more.

CARTER:  Our grandson, Carter, turned two this year. He seems to have grown taller and smarter and more charming with each passing day. We delight in watching him explore the world and take such pride in seeing his little personality begin to develop. He’s got us wrapped around his chubby little fingers, and – in all honesty – there’s no place we’d rather be.

Without question, our greatest blessings this year were wrapped up in our three grandchildren. Billy and I are so blessed to have such wonderful sons and daughters in law. They work hard to provide for their families, they’re engaged and present parents and they too, consider their children life’s greatest joy. They have blessed us so fully. Being Mimi and Poppy to their children – our grand babies – has helped us put things into perspective and to re-align our priorities; it truly has given us a new sense of belonging and purpose. For this, we are eternally grateful.

Developing and maintaining the delicate balance between home-life and work-life has proved an interesting challenge – especially in these years of major growth. Billy and I joke that just when we think we’ve got things figured out, we hit a wrinkle and have to start all over again! While I certainly wouldn’t say that our life comes without stress, we both agree that our partnership – at home and at work – makes it all much easier. That said, I am so happy that the Lord picked us for one another, I cannot imagine trying to make this work with anyone but him.

We experienced many a professional success this year as well.  McCoy Homes, grew by an impressive factor; surpassing our expectations, yet again. We moved into new offices, expanded our showroom and grew our team. We closed out Greystone Pointe (a McCoy Homes Development), began selling Phase I of Oakhaven Fields and broke ground on Barnsley Park.

The first quarter of 2019 will be another busy time. When we return to work in the New Year, we will immediately begin work on Phase II of Oakhaven Fields and Barnsley Park – two of Chattanooga’s newest, premier living communities.

We’re excited about the work coming out of our Interior Design department. Jillian and the McCoy Homes Design team have been busy planning, sourcing and organizing both ideas and finishes for use on next year’s dream homes.

Our field teams have their marching orders and are eager to hit the ground running.

Looking ahead, it seems that 2019 has the potential to be our best year yet. And we look forward to getting started!

Billy and I couldn’t do what we do without the loving and guiding hand of our Lord; nor could we do it without the support of our family or the hard work of our McCoy Homes teams. We have so much – and so many – to be thankful for. We are truly humbled and truly grateful.
