Festive fall wreaths, pots and planters to boost your door decor game.
It’s that time of year again! Time to dress the front of your home with festive fall decor! The tastemakers on McCoy Homes’ Design Team have compiled a list (with shoppable links) of their favorite porch and decor items: wreaths, pots and planters. We hope you find it helpful. If you have anything to add, please be sure to contact us! We’d love to add your suggestions to our list.
Festive Fall Wreaths
Nothing says, “welcome to my home” quite like the perfectly dressed front door or the perfectly assembled row of decorative garden flags that lead you there. A lovely door knocker works all year round. We like a simple ribbon in the spring, plaques and pennants for the summer holidays. But in fall – and through the winter – we love a wreath. Whether you choose luscious fall foliage or vibrant fall florals, the perfect fall wreath has the potential to set the tone for your whole holiday season.

The rich colors in Joanna’s Regal Magnolia Wreath make the perfect natural-neutral pallet. This wreath can be dressed up with ribbons or florals, but it is certainly lovely enough to be hung as is. With an outer diameter of 22″ and an inner diameter of 11″, this wreath is the perfect for a front door.
Balsam Hill’s Fairytale Pumpkin Wreath is an excellent choice for early fall through the Thanksgiving holiday. With a variety of fall foliage, and multiple pumpkin colors and sizes, it is interesting enough to stand (or hang) alone. The great thing about this wreath, though, is that its soft colors will coordinate with a variety of other fall decor elements.
The Citrus and Cedar Wreath is a McCoy Homes favorite. We think it has the potential to work really well ALL holiday season long. Add an orange (or brown) checked (or gingham) bow for your fall festivities, but swap it out for a crimson or emerald-hunter bow for Christmas.
Perfect Pots and Planters

Adding urns, pots and planters is a good way to elevate your porch scape without having to invest in the changing of your home’s facade. Because we like to change things up with the seasons and the holidays, we like a neutral planter. Here are some of our favorites.

In order of appearance: the Rafaela Planter from Front Gate, the Beauclaire Planter from Ballard Designs, the Rodin Planter also from Ballard, the Tuscany Planter from Front Gate, the Macron Urn from Pottery Barn.
We hope this list has inspired you to get creative with you door decor this fall! Again, we sure would love to hear from you. So don’t hesitate to reach out to let us know what we should add to our list.
