McCoy Homes is growing again! Spring of 2018 is just around the corner, and boy-oh-boy! It sure is a good time to be a GC (general contractor) in Tennessee!
The McCoy Homes team is preparing to move into a brand-new facility. We recently acquired – and are currently working to renovate – a new space located just off of Shallowford Road. We cannot wait to open our doors! Our new showroom is more than double the size of our current space. We will have so much more room for the things that our clients love: designer vignettes, beautiful finish samples and awesome materials from which to build a luxurious custom home!
The newest addition to our team, Lead Interior Designer, Jillian Hendricks, will bring her own experience and her personal flair to the Interiors Department at McCoy Homes. Our team will continue to offer the award winning designs, striking architectural details and cutting-edge amenities that Chattanoogans have come to expect from their favorite General Contractor.
The Builder with a History of Excellence
McCoy Homes has been serving Chattanooga families for more than 20 years. Billy started out as a metal fabricator. His interest in good design and quality materials led him to build his first custom home in 1992. Two years later he established a sole proprietorship – through which he built custom homes for family, friends and clients throughout the Chattanooga area. And so began his road to the creation of McCoy Homes, Inc., officially established in 2013.
Most new businesses face a daunting gauntlet of challenges – both economic and environmental. During the 1990s, changes to the tax code and shortages within the skilled labor market presented problems for home builders and developers, alike. But Billy McCoy refused to compromise his standards. From the beginning, he has said,
“As I see it, the only way to make it as a general contractor is to give your customers real peace of mind. To do that you have to consistently deliver value. You have to build them a quality product, at a competitive price, in a timely manner, without causing stress. You have to put in the work – to build a good reputation. A reputation for taking care of your people.”
To that end, Billy puts his own hand and his – personal promise – on every single project. He employs construction professionals with extensive experience. He includes craftsmen whenever possible His team sources the best materials for every project. And he takes pride in treating every customer like family – no matter the size of their project.
A Contractor with a Conscience
McCoy Homes is a one of the few general contractors who prioritized environmental responsibility before it was a buzzword. Not only have the McCoys always seen themselves as responsible for their neighborhoods, they’ve also seen the financial incentives of conscientious building. Currently offering a variety of eco-friendly options for finishes from floor to ceiling, the company remains committed to the environment and the area in which it operates.
Record Growth in 2017
According to Connie McCoy, Vice President of Operations:
We are moving McCoy Homes into a new facility because we no longer fit in the old one. Business grew by 43 percent in 2017 and projections indicate that the year ahead will likely be even bigger. We are so excited to see what 2018 has in store for our family and our business.
One of the company’s many success stories is Greystone Pointe, a community of new homes on Ooltewah-Ringgold Road with sweeping, scenic views. Home buyers chose from multiple floor plans and spacious lots. McCoy Homes sold all of their Greystone Pointe properties before the end of 2017.
Oak Haven is another custom home community currently under construction. McCoy Homes started pre-sales before the end of 2017 and will continue to add home sites in the months ahead.
The Team that’s Moving with Us
Even though McCoy Homes will be in a new location, the award winning team that helped us build our reputation – a reputation for excellence in design, construction and service – will be there to offer more of the same.
Kathy, Jillian and Buddy (Office Manager, Lead Interior Designer and Project Manager) all share the McCoy’s vision for the future of their company – McCoy Homes. A future where clients continue to be treated like family and where homes continue to be built with thoughtfulness and care.
Whether you are thinking about building a custom home, you have worked with McCoy Homes in the past or you are just curious about some of the changes this year will bring, give us a call or stop by! We look forward to your visit.
